He attended the college between 1932 and 1935, According tot he King's School Canterbury Roll of Honour website he was 28 when he died of bronchial pneumonia in Changi. He joined the army upon leaving university and had been awarded the MBE (Mil Div) for gallantry and resourcefulness in Belgium and France in 1940.
