The brother of Henry who is also commemorated here, Fred was unmarried and, alongside his brother, worked in a brickworks: he was also a member of the Hipperholme and Lightcliffe Liberal Club and played cricket for Hipperholme Wesleyans. He died of appendicitis in hospital. Neither brother was found to be commemorated anywhere else in Calderdale.
