He was born in Born Bangor, Caernarvon, on 10 May 1893, the 1st son of the Revd Silas Morris, Principal of North Wales Baptist College. He was educated at Rugby School 1906-1912 and achieved a 2nd in his Classics Moderations in 1914 before he enlisted on 9 January 1915: he did not complete his degree as he was killed in the assault on the Hohenzollern Redoubt in the September.
