Notes
The memorial records only his military unit, rank, forename and surname, which was inscribed on the tablet as "McLeod". That is the spelling of his surname under which his death was registered in Aberdeen Northern District in 1942.
CWGC records that Leading Aircraftman Ronald MacLeod, 1348626, died aged 32 on 3/5/1942; he is commemorated on the Aberdeen Crematorium plaque under the spelling "MacLeod", which was also the spelling used in the death notice that was printed in Aberdeen Evening Express on 4/5/1942 (which mentioned that he was formerly of the Aberdeen City Police).
