H G Ward

He was born in the summer of 1898, the 4th child of Henry George Ward, a gardener at Corpus since 1903, and Emily (née Knibbs). He worked as a College servant from 1912 before enlisting, first in 1914 when he was discovered to be too young (he would have been only 16 at most), and then again in 1915 when he was accepted.
