Private, 1st Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment. Son of Robert and Ada Rushbrook of Newmarket, Suffolk. He was on the hellship Hofuku Maru, sunk off Luzon by US aircraft, on the way to Omuta, Japan with the loss of about 1,000 out of 1,286 British and Dutch POWs, locked in the holds, that had started out from Signapore on 4 July 1944. Remembered on column 60 of The Memorial, Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore.
