Notes
The Roll of Honour includes an appendix headed "Men thought to be from Peterborough who were killed in action, but about whom little can be discovered regarding addresses, regiments, dates of death etc". That page includes this entry for F.A. Hunt, who it lists as having been killed in action in Septmber 1917, but records no address or military details. {The entry derives from a similar entry on the original 1921 version of the Roll, which listed Private "F A Hunt" of the Northamptonshire Regiment, who it stated had died on an unspecified date in September 1917; it did not record his address].
(Whilst the Roll of Honour inaccurately recorded the month of death, it was undoubtedly alluding to Private Frederick Alfred Hunt, whose Medal Index Card records that he initially served in the Northamptonshire Regiment under regimental number 23955 before transferring to the 12th Battalion London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers), at which time his regimental number changed to 66386.
Soldiers Died in the Great War records that Frederick was a native of Worcester who was living in Peterborough when he enlisted.
On the 1911 census Frederick had been aged 12 , living at 150 Lincoln Road Peterborough with his parents Clara and Charles Arthur Hunt.
CWGC records that Private Frederick Alfred Hunt, regimental number 66386, died aged 19 on 31/7/1917 while serving in the 12th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, and is commemorated on Ypres Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium. They record him as the son of Charles A and Clara Hunt of 46 Denmark Road, Lowestoft.
The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that Frederick died in France between 31st July and 3rd August 1917, and that his mother Clara was his legatee).
