Major John Dorset Bringhurst is also commemorated on a plaque at the Royal Chapel and St Joseph Church in Waterloo, which states he was in the 1st Regiment of the Dragoon Guards, was Aide de Camp to Major General Sir H. Fane, and was buried "on the spot where he fell, near the west entrance of the farm of la Haye Sainte".
