(CWGC records that Sergeant John Barrick, regimental number 7160, was serving in 5th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment when he died aged 30 on 12/10/1915; he is commemorated on Loos Memorial in France. They record him as the son of John & Sarah Ann Barrick of Swineshead, Huntingdonshire, and the husband of Florence Elizabeth Barrick of 5 Bedale Road, Wellingborough. After 8 years' service, he left the Army and became a postman in Peterborough. He had lived at 150 Westwood Street, before moving to 208 Belsize Avenue. He was called up at the beginning of the War, but served in England with the 5th Battalion until May 1915. He had been married for three years and left a widow and 11-month-old daughter).
