Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the details. He joined the school in 1904, attended Reading University and became a teacher: he was also a member of both Hebden Bridge Liberal and Hockey clubs. He enlisted in January 1915 and was killed bringing up rations. He is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial. His brother Clifford Holt Rothwell was also a WW1 casualty.
