Hornshaw and Fowler list him as having been a Trooper, his death being reported in the Halifax Courier on 12th November 1914. Little else is known. CWGC show no casualty with this surname and forenames, or with the rank of Trooper, and 4 with the surname Ashworth dying before the date of the newspaper reference.
