Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked as a machine-room foreman for a firm of wholesale clothiers, was married to Florence and they had a child. He was the brother of Edward who is also commemorated here and was not found to be commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial by them, but he is on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
