Memorial Details
What type of memorial is it?
How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Frosted pub window, removed from its original location, and placed in a brass frame mounted on a wooden backboard and displayed in the Lounge Bar of the Hotel, along with a framed and glazed explanatory notice. Military personnel who passed through during WW2, and local men serving in uniformed civilian organisations were invited to inscribe their names and unit on the window. The notice, which is inscribed in calligraphy, was displayed beneath it, and is embellished by a hand-drawn and painted arch depicting the Royal Arms and the crests of the four nations of the United Kingdom.
