Memorial Details
What type of memorial is it?
How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
This stained glass window is dedicated to the Sixth Battalion of the Black Watch. This is a two-light window, each light featuring a Black Watch soldier. On the left, the soldier is in ceremonial uniform, and is standing in front of the Archangel Michael dressed in armour and slaying the serpent of evil.  On the right the soldier is in battle dress, and behind him is St. Andrew.
The lowest section of the window features the Regimental Badge of the Black Watch on the left, and the Croix de Guerre on the right. (The 6th Batt served with such distinction in France during the First World War that the French President awarded the Battalion the Croix de Guerre.) Below both is the regimental motto, Nemo me immune lacessit.
