How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Two-light stained glass window, the tracery of which contains six small lights in a circle. The left-light depicts St George slaying the dragon; the right light depicts a tree of life, incorporating the Regimental badge, and crests of the School and University that Captain Morton formerly attended; a 'scroll-style' pane at the foot of that light bears the dedication.

[Details of Captain Morton's battlefield cross within this Church are in our separate record WMR 733361. Details of his commemoration on his parents' gravestone in this churchyard are in our record WMR 117716.
(He is also commemorated on a tablet in St. John the Evangelist Church, High Street, Washingborough, North Kesteven, to which our record WMR 48854 relates)].

Lincoln Leader and County Advertiser, Saturday 9 June 1917 (page 3) reported: 'CAPT. W. R. MORTON. KILLED ON MAY 4th. Captain William Ronald Morton, Royal Warwick Regiment, only son of the late Mr. William Henry Morton, J.P., for the Parts of Kesteven, late of Harmston Hall and Washingborough Manor, near Lincoln, and of Mrs. Morton, of Ashfield House, Branston, Lincoln, and Carlton-le-Moorland, Newark-on-Trent, was killed on the night of May 4th. He was was educated at Rugby and Christ Church, Oxford, and enlisted in the U.P.S. Brigade in September, 1914. He was gazetted in the Royal Warwick Regiment in June, 1915, and went to the Front on May 15th, 1916, and, except for one short leave, had been there continuously. He gained his captaincy in December, 1916. He was a keen sportsman and good shot. His Colonel writes: “He and I were very intimate, and, as you know, I had the greatest admiration for him. He was a splendid soldier, and was beloved by officers and men alike, and I made him a Company Commander because of his fine qualities.” Captain Morton married in February, 1914, Miss Blanche Ellen Wilson, sixth daughter of Mr. J. A. Wilson-Charge, and sister of Major Wilson-Charge, D.S.O. The deceased officer, who was 27 years of age, leaves no issue'.
