Memorial Details
What type of memorial is it?
How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Central panel: A Figure of Victory is shown arising with the morning sun of a new era. Having sounded a victorious note on her trumpet, she greets the Dove of Peace.
Crowning the side windows are two damsels contributing their music to the chorus of thankfulness.
On the left are the Royal Arms and on the right the crest of the Royal Academy of Music, with lyre. From a flower-bedecked base arise rocky prominences symbolic of the difficulties of life to be surmounted and in the foreground of the three windows landscape is shown, with trees and foliage.
